Football Takraw

Football takraw is a mix of sports from soccer and volleyball, played in the badminton doubles court, and players must not touch the ball with his hand. The most prestigious championship in this branch is the King's Cup World Championships, last held in Bangkok, Thailand.

This game comes from the Melaka Sultanate era (1402 - 1511) and is known as the Soccer Sports in the Malay language. The ball is made of woven rattan and the players stood in a circle.



Earliest historical records about the sport there is soccer in Malay history. When the reign of Sultan Mansur Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Muzzaffar Shah (1459 - 1477), a son named Raja Ahmad has thrown the country karana kill children Treasurer due to dispute when playing soccer sport. The rules are similar to volleyball with a difference:
  1. players must not touch the ball with your hands
  2. players or team may only touch the ball 3 times in a row
  3. defender position is not played
